Mustang has been on top form this week and we have had many multiple catches taken by day and session anglers.
Things were looking good for the big 40-hour BCAC UK carp cup match at the weekend and after a slow start things kicked off with 15 carp landed and six lost. The bombardment of marker floats and spods unsettled the carp for the first half of the match, but once things settled down the bites started to come. The biggest fish during the match was a 23lb 2oz common and just 1oz separated 3rd and 2nd place.
Regular Andy Knight took 1st place with 3 fish for 43lb 3oz and James Anderson finished second with 38lb 6oz with two fish. Well done to both of you for getting to the final at Brasenose in October. I wish you all the best and hope you bring the top £5000 prize home.
The fish have been spread out all week, but peg 3, 10 and 12 have fished really well. Spodding pellets with small or chopped boilies is the best tactic at the moment with a PVA bag over the top. Most of the silkweed has died off as well now so there is plenty of tasty hard clay spots in front of all the swims.
I hope you like the pic's.
