Nice results

Mustang Lake has been doing plenty of bites, but the action is sporadic and following the unsettled weather conditions. I photographed four fish in under an hour the other day when I walked round, but there had not been a bite for six hours before that.
We've had another two anglers manage a brace of twenties and I was really pleased to see Paul Smith bank his first carp form the lake in the shape of a mint 25lb common.
Beds of boilies are still working well. Nash or Mainline freezer baits are the most consistent.
Just to remind you all that Mustang will be shut for three days next weekend from Friday 4th May - Sunday 6th May. It will be open again as normal 9am Monday 7th May.

I hope you like the pics.

Big Commons

Mustang has been in steady form over the last couple of weeks. The best hit was taken in a day session by Steve who banked five fish, four between 14-15lb along with a cracking 25lb common. Great Angling mate, not bad for your second ever trip to the lake. The common Steve banked makes it at least five commons in Mustang over the 25lb mark at mo.

Several other twenties have been out from all over the lake. I know a 25lb mirror came out Sunday morning, but I'm still waiting for the pic of that one (please).

Nash Monster Squid and Mainline Cell / Grange are still the top baits. I've seen a few fish caught over pellets as well, so I think they will start coming more into play as the water temperature increases.

Mustang is open as normal this year, but the lake is closed for two weekends in May (4th - 6th and 18th - 20th) for the BCAC pairs match and a private function. The lake is also closed for just one weekend in June (15th - 17th) for another BCAC UK carp cup match.
